Under the able guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Aftab Anwar Shaikh, Principal, Poona College of Arts, Science and Commerce, the Two Day Free COVID-19 Vaccination Drive was successfully conducted in the Poona College Conference Hall on 29th October and 30th October 2021, from 11:00am to 04:00pm, ceaselessly.
The drive was a joint venture of National Service Scheme (NSS), Board of Students’ Development and National Cadet Corps (NCC) in association with Pune Municipal Corporation under the banner of Swastha Yuva Mission in compliance to the directives issued by Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), Pune.
This drive succeeded in vaccinating Covishield to 275 Teaching, Non teaching and Menial Staff, and the students of Poona College.
Sub. Lt. Dr. Mohmmad Shakir Shaikh, with his cadets escorting students for vaccination, strove hard to make this drive successful.
Dr. Baba Shaikh (BSD Officer) took painstaking efforts to make all the arrangements so to help the medical staff at work.
Dr. Aafreen Ahmed (NSS Programme Officer) encouraged students, specially girls, to go for vaccination without any hesitation and anxiety.
Mr. Akbar Sayyed (NSS Programme Officer), along with the NSS volunteers, chaperoned the drive and ensured that no student will be left behind without getting jabbed.
Prof. (Dr.) Aftab Anwar Shaikh, Principal, Mr. Iqbal Shaikh, Vice Principal (Science), Mr. Moinuddin Khan, Vice Principal (Arts) and Poona College fraternity appreciated the initiative taken up by the Government and its successful implementation in Poona College situated at the heart of the Pune City.
