A guest lecture on the topic “Global Financial Markets: The Strategies of Investment Banks” was successfully conducted by the Department of Economics, PG and Research Centre today at 9:00 AM in the Conference Hall. The session was a collaborative effort, coordinated by Dr. Nargis Wani under the guidance of Principal Dr. Iqbal Shaikh and Vice Principal Dr. Amjad Shaikh.
The session began with a solemn recitation of the Holy Quran by Huzaifa Sheikh, setting a reflective tone for the event. Following the recitation, Dr. Shahid Jamal Ansari, Head of the Economics Department, provided a comprehensive introduction to global banking, offering valuable insights into the complexities of the global financial markets.
Today Guest speaker, Mr. Owais Ahmad Wani, in his presentation provided an in-depth analysis of the various components of global markets, including equity, debt, foreign exchange, and derivative markets as well as strategic roles of investment banks in these markets.
All faculty members, Mr. Shakeel Akhter, Dr. Gulnawaz Usmani, Dr. Vidyasagar Singaram, Mr. Waseem Ahmad, and Dr. Shoeb Ansari extended their full cooperation in success of the program.
