The Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony at AKI’s Poona College of Arts,Science & Commerce, Camp, Pune-1 was held with great enthusiasm on February 4, 2025.
The event was graced and presided over by Hon. Mr. Hani Ahmed Farid, General Secretary of Anjuman Khairul Islam Trust, and Hon. Dr. Hanif Lakdawala, Trustee, as chief guests.
The Vice-Principal, Dr. Amjad Shaikh , introduced the esteemed guests, while Principal Dr. Iqbal Shaikh presented a review of the academic progress and achievements of the institution over the past year.
He also shared insights into future plans and congratulated students who excelled in various competitions, including research and sports.
In his speech, Mr. Hani Ahmed Farid encouraged students to develop their innate talents, excel in their chosen fields, and set an example for society. He assured that the institution remains committed to supporting students’ bright futures.
Dr. Hanif Lakdawala emphasized that success cannot be achieved without effort.
He suggested establishing a research center to promote value-based education and urged students to become entrepreneurs rather than job seekers. He also highlighted the impact of ChatGPT and artificial intelligence, calling upon teachers and students to contribute positively to society and bring glory to the institution.
The chief guests felicitated outstanding faculty members, winners of intercollegiate, district, state, national, and international competitions, and participants in the Youth Festival with sports scholarships, prizes, and mementos.
The event was attended by Registrar Mr. Ismail Sayyed, Vice-Principal Prof. Imtiyaz Aga, Supervisor Prof. Naseem Khan, Sports Director Dr. Ayaz Shaikh, Sports Faculty Prof. Ashad Shaikh, Prof. Imran Pathan, and heads of various departments, faculty members, non-teaching staff, and volunteers from NCC and NSS.
The program was anchored by Dr. Shireen Shaikh (IQAC Coordinator), Dr. Fazil Sharif, Dr. Nasreen Khan, and Prof. Shaheen Qureshi. The Vice-President of the Gymkhana Committee, Dr. Musharraf Hussain, delivered the vote of thanks.
