The 75th Amrit Mahotsavi Inter-Collegiate Athletics Meet 2025 was jointly organized by Poona College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Camp, Pune and the Pune City Zonal Sports Committee (PCZSC) of Savitribai Phule Pune University at the Khashaba Jadhav Sports Complex Athletics Track, Savitribai Phule Pune University, on 16th October 2025.
The event witnessed an enthusiastic participation from athletes, professors, and students.
The meet was inaugurated by Hon. Prof. Dr. Parag Kalkar, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Savitribai Phule Pune University, who inspired the gathering by emphasizing the importance of maintaining a balance between sports and academics. In his address, he remarked,
“This 75th Athletics Meet truly embodies the University’s motto – ‘Nurture Athletes, Build the Nation.’”
The inauguration ceremony was graced by distinguished guests including Mr. Ravindra Shinganapurkar (Governor-nominated Management Council Member, SPPU), Mr. Krishna Bhandalkar (Governor-nominated Senate Member, SPPU), Dr. Jyoti Bhakare (Acting Registrar, SPPU), Dr. Iqbal Shaikh (Chairman, PCZSC & Principal, Poona College), and Dr. Sudam Shelke (Acting Director, Department of Physical Education, SPPU).
Around 700 male and female athletes from various colleges across Pune city actively participated in the event, showcasing remarkable skill, discipline, and true sportsmanship.
Athletes achieved outstanding performances and record-breaking results in various track, jump, and throw events, bringing pride to their respective colleges.
The successful organization of the meet was made possible through the dedicated efforts of the Principal, faculty members, sports department officials, volunteers, and organizing committee of Poona College.
